Code Club: MIT Scratch and Makey Makey

Wed 8 August 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm FREE!
Code Club: MIT Scratch and Makey Makey - - Surry Hills - NSW
Bring your keen coders to our free 4-week coding series. They’ll gain confidence using the coding environment, MIT Scratch, and find out how to build games and animations. MIT Scratch offers a fun introduction to block coding. It encourages creative thinking, systematic reasoning and collaboration. In this series, our young coders will develop a project with the Makey Makey invention kit to bring their ideas to the next level. Makey Makey turns everyday objects into touchpads. A banana can become a keyboard or a game controller. It’s part of our <a href="http://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/explore/libraries/collections/makerspace-kits">makerspace kit</a> collection available to borrow. Your coder can continue to explore and work on their project at home. These hands-on workshops are suitable for 9 to 12 year-olds. Prior experience with MIT Scratch is recommended. Places are free, however, you must book and attend all sessions. The workshops have a capacity of 8. Everything is provided. Parents or guardians need to stay in the library during Code Club.
