The Muslim community is not immune. Every month National Zakat Foundation sees hundreds of such cases come through their doors up and around their offices in Australia. It's time for the community to be part of the discussion. Such Issues are often coated in stigma which further intensifies their invisibility despite their undeniable prevalence. Just as support is needed overseas, it is also crucially needed locally too. We just don't realise this because our eyes are wide, wide shut to the issues which are plaguing our local, immediate society.

The MSAs of Sydney in partnership with National Zakat Foundation brings to you 'Eyes Wide Shut' - a half day conference to take a closer look into the issues of mental health, domestic violence, homelessness, and drugs, alcohol and addiction with professionals and Islamic scholars in these respective fields.
