Join Sydney chef and food consultant Alex Herbert from Bird Cow Fish for Garlic Galore. Alex is peeling back the secrets of garlic with some of NSW’s best garlic farmers: NPM stallholders. As Alex questions the speakers about tales of vampires, crops and finds out a few home truths, she’s also going to tempt your imagination and taste buds while cooking her favourite garlic dishes. Learn about garlic bombs, the seeds/bulbils from the garlic flower head. This newly used part of the garlic is delicious, packs a punch and is a hit ingredient with top chefs, including Alex. Previously these seeds were only used to produce blended garlic. As that process takes 2 years, most growers prefer using cloves to propagate, which produces a perfect clone of the original bulb and takes much less time to harvest. Make sure you visit Pepe Saya’s stall on the day as he is producing some freshly churned garlic butter exclusively for this event. Last year's sold out within 2 hours.
