The workshop facilitator Rosell Flatley is a creative, eco-conscious go-getter who has accomplishments spanning across art, education, design and community engagement. She's also passionate about sustainable living and know what it takes to inspire, engage and educate in the name of fun. Rosell's Creatures is created by Rosell Flatley. Rosell is an illustrator, muralist and curator with a background in graphic design and uses a variety of mediums including spray paint, ink, watercolours and acrylics. She calls them creatures because she feels each character or piece of art has a life of its own. All workshop participants, will take home their beautifully crafted weaving to give to a loved one or hang on their wall. All materials will be provided. Most importantly they will take home values of eco-living, community and creativity. This is an inclusive workshop and parents/carers are welcome to participate. The weaving workshop will introduce the children to the basic concepts of weaving. They'll learn how to create a simple weave and the origins of weaving. Materials Wool Twigs Cardboard Entry is free. Participants are encouraged to bring a pantry item to donate to Newtown's Asylum Seekers Centre. See the website for suggested items. Suitable for children aged 6 to 12. Celebrating unique expressions of identity, culture and community, Kafe As Poume comes alive during Inner West Festival 2018. Join a series of free workshops for adults and children, set inside the Kafe As Poume kitchen installation, hosted by practitioners spanning art, cuisine and textiles. Presented as part of Kafe As Poume and supported by Inner West Council’s Open Inner West 2018.
