#KissingSydney Art Exhibition - - Sydney - NSW
#KissingSydney is a celebration of the encounter between social media and architecture, and will be the first in a new program of art exhibitions hosted by the Historic Houses Association with the aim of drawing attention to the built environment in a contemporary fashion; through our experiences on social media. The Historic Houses Association wishes to launch the exhibition program with an ode to the dedicated photographers who record and share glimpses of Sydney’s built fabric on social media. The free exhibition will explore the collision between the ephemeral moments captured with the age old constructions that surrounds us. The name of the exhibition, #KissingSydney is derived from architectural historian Sylvia Lavin’s 2011 book Kissing Architecture, where she outlines a theory of interface between architecture and other mediums; explaining how “kisses” between mediums create new affective conditions and new ways of seeing or feeling the built environment.
